Destiny 2: Lightfall trailer and revelations from it
Bungie has announced the Destiny 2 Lightfall trailer as well as trailers for its expansions. From the trailers, many things about Lightfall are revealed, and they will surprise you. First of all, take the time to watch the following trailers:
So, what does the Destiny 2 Lightfall trailer leak?
A new story and a new place
From the first trailer, Lightfall introduced a new setting where the new story takes place. It is Neomuna city on Neptune. Neomuna is inhabited by humans who have left the rest of the system before. They lacked the light given by the Traveler, so they developed the Cloud Striders to protect the city.
After The Witch Queen, Calus (king to the exile of the Cabal) became a disciple of Witness, who was leading the assault on the Solar System. Calus detected Neomuna’s presence and gathered his Cabal forces. Along with that, Witness’ own soldiers, called Tormentors, joined forces with Cabal to attack Neomuna.
So, this city has called for help from the Vanguard squad – true guardian warriors.
A new subclass in Destiny 2: Lightfall – Strand
In Beyond Light (2020), Statis, the first shadow subclass, was introduced. It uses Aspects and Fragments to bring more customization to the player. In The Witch Queen, Solar and Arc have been enhanced to have the same Aspects and Fragments system, just like Statis.
So what about Destiny 2: Lightfall? Lightfall will have a brand new subclass, called Strand. Its power is based on disassembly and entanglement through the control of reality in a matrix (called Weave).
Each main character in the game has a new subclass based on the Strand, including:
- Berserkers for Titans: who wields the twin swords of the Strand to cut through enemies.
- Broodweavers for Warlocks: who can unleash Strand rockets, which explode into Threadlings creatures.
- The Threadrunners for Hunters: who can summon rope darts to attack enemies.
In-game loadout and mod customization features
Among the key improvements, Destiny 2: Lightfall will bring a loadout feature. This feature allows gamers to set up weapons and armor, including mods and modifiers. This also makes it easier for them to switch between different refills.
In addition to the loadout feature, the mod customization feature will be present in the game. It allows gamers to view and modify weapon mods, armor, and character stats on the same screen.
Weapon and armor mods will no longer have elemental attributes. Combat style mods (Charged with Light) will be replaced with Armor Change. Elemental Wells are also replaced with a system of objects, such as Statis fragments and Arc ions.
The seasonal content of the expansions
In addition to Lightfall and additional content, Bungie will split 6th year into 4 seasons. Each season will have a free pass to get new gear, items, currency, activities, and wins. But some activities will require a paid season pass to access.
As with Destiny 2’s 4th and 5th years, seasonal activities are still accessed in subsequent seasons throughout the 6th year. But some victories can only be completed during a certain season.
Some other new features
More will be revealed once Destiny 2 Lightfall comes out, but here are some other new features we’re aware of:
The “looking for group” (LFG) feature will be improved before the expansion, The Final Shape launches. This feature helps gamers find others more easily.
Lightfall will have a new reward system for gamers to recognize and praise other people’s achievements after each activity.
Lightfall will further improve the weapon crafting system introduced in The Witch Queen. Bungie is working on introducing new ways to earn money, helping players reduce the purchase of unwanted weapons.
As such, the article above helps you know Destiny 2: Lightfall release date and revelations from its trailer. This expansion of Destiny 2 promises to bring a new and better experience than before. Are you looking forward to Destiny 2: Lightfall and its 6th-year seasonal content?
