Burning Shores is the massive expansion after the game Horizon Forbidden West. It will officially be available on April 19, 2023, and exclusively for PS5.
Regarding the PS5-only launch, Mathijs de Jonge, game director, said: “The cityscape ruins of LA and its surroundings are highly detailed and require a lot of processing power and fast streaming technology to run properly.” And PS5 is the device platform that meets all the criteria to best transmit this DLC.

What’s new in Burning Shores Horizon?
In Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, players will join Aloy in a new adventure set in a Los Angeles-inspired location featuring a fresh narrative, distinct landmarks, and exciting gameplay opportunities.
Aloy will be accompanied by Seyka, a new character from the Quen tribe, throughout much of the DLC’s story. Players will encounter new machines, such as the versatile Waterwing, and acquire new gear, including the ancient Zenith weapon. Metal Devil boss fight teased in the Sony and Guerrilla announcement trailer is further showcased in this expansion.
How to play Burning Shores?
Exclusively available for PS5, Burning Shores will be released on April 19, 2023, with pre-orders already open. You can pre-order this DLC on the PlayStation Store. Early players can win rewards, including the Blacktide Dye Outfit and Blacktide Sharpshot Bow.
To access this DLC, players must have completed the main quest line, including the Singularity task, in the base game. Upon completion, Aloy will receive an in-game call through her Focus to initiate the DLC.
