Mojang Studio wants to take Minecraft in a new direction, but they haven’t escaped the old shadow yet. When we look at Minecraft Legends, we find it both new and familiar.
Firstly, it is an action strategy game, not a simulation or construction like Minecraft. This is what makes it look fresh. Specifically, gamers will participate in the real open world, collect resources, build defenses, and recruit mercenaries to protect their kingdom.
Secondly, it retains Minecraft’s iconic building element. You must build a defense base to complete missions – which is vital for your fight.
The construction mechanism of Minecraft Legends is very similar to Minecraft. It also requires you to mine resources and craft tools to build according to your imagination. But in Minecraft, you make things in multiple styles. In that case, Minecraft Legends focus on solid defensive structures, which can protect your team.
Build your buildings
As mentioned, buildings are an integral part of your strategy. You need materials from common to rare, like wood and stone, iron, Redstone, etc. Combine them in your way to create the following constructions:
- Defensive buildings: walls, turrets, castles, citadel, …
- Spawnbuildings: create combat units.

Minecraft Legends captivates players with its engaging structure and adorable piglets. Exploring the Overworld to uncover rare resources and secrets keeps the gameplay interesting. The day-night cycle remains crucial, as piglets either fortify strongholds, build outposts, or attack villages during nighttime. Protecting villages is essential since they generate resources and provide access to stronger armies.
Besides, the medium-sized Legends’ map is adorned with iconic Minecraft imagery, creating an immersive and organic environment. The game world feels alive, from packs of wolves wandering the plains to turtles meandering through ponds. Unique features like Bouncecaps encourage players to explore vertically, leading to exciting discoveries and occasional mishaps.
3D design with familiar block style
Once again, you enjoy the familiar blocky style in Minecraft Legends. It’s a great feeling. Although it is based on Minecraft, this game has something new. Its environment is better designed and more fantasy. The system of creatures and buildings is also more diverse, which stimulates us to constantly move to explore.
